To drive into Kakadu from Darwin takes approximately 3 hours. Most sites throughout Kakadu are quite spread out so a couple of hours driving here and there should be expected.
The Cobourg Peninsula is approximately 570km from Darwin. If you are travelling to Cobourg by road we generally do the trip over two days seeing various sites along the way. We often drive directly from Cobourg to Darwin on the last day of tour, this is quite a big day but again break it up with touring en route – please note you always have the option of flying directly back to Darwin from Cobourg.
Yes, the flight takes approximately one hour and provides spectacular views of the Cobourg Peninsula coastline. This flight cost $300 per person, based on a minimum of 4 passengers.
Upon booking a packing list will be provided (eg. you need to bring a swimming towel, hat, sunscreen, sturdy shoes etc). All food, bedding, touring etc is included in the tour price. If you would like to consume alcohol you will need to purchase this prior to the commencement of your tour (note if staying in a hotel on tour you can purchase with dinner).

If you would like to purchase alcohol then yes you should definitely purchase prior to your tour departing (note if you are staying in a hotel on tour then you can purchase with dinner). On tour we can keep everything on ice for you for the duration of your trip.

We require tour guests to have a reasonable level of fitness and that you are steady on your feet.
Yes, we take children who are 6yo and older on our shared tours. We do not have any age restrictions on our private charters.
Cancellation fees:
12 months + prior a full refund will be given
1 month – 12 months a 20% cancellation fee will apply
Less than 1 month – 2 weeks 50% of total tour cost
Less than 2 week 100% cancellation fee applies
We recommend that you keep your luggage to approximately 10-15 kilograms in a soft overnight carry bag as space in the vehicle/trailer is often limited. When travelling by light aircraft or helicopter strict weight restrictions may apply. We also recommend you include a small back pack to hand carry with you for easy access to your camera, sunscreen, water bottle and other personal items.
Yes, we can cater for a range of dietary requirements such as vegetarian or gluten free. In order to accommodate such requirements please advise at the time of booking.
Yes, we pick up (and drop off) all our guests directly from their accommodation.
As we are regularly far from civilisation, phone reception is often limited or non-existent. There is no reception on the Cobourg Peninsula. Major mobile service providers will usually pick up reception in; Darwin, Batchelor, Katherine, Jabiru, Cooinda, Gunbalanya, Maningrida and Ramingining.
Yes. Batteries for cameras, phones, iPods etc. can easily be recharged throughout the tour. Each vehicle contains an inverter which allows you to recharge your appliances from an Australian 240V connection. Solar power is also available at Venture North’s Cobourg Coastal Camp to charge devices.
