What can Venture North Safaris deliver?

As specialists in small-group and private touring, we deliver highly personalised experiences tailored to each guest's individual needs. Wherever possible, we work closely with guests prior to departure to understand any accessibility, mobility, medical or dietary requirements, allowing us to design an itinerary that is safe, comfortable and enjoyable.

Our flexible approach is one of the things that sets Venture North Safaris apart. We understand that every guest is different, and we take pride in tailoring our tours to accommodate individual needs wherever possible. Combined with our maximum guide-to-guest ratio of just 1:6 on all departures, experienced guides, and fully customized private charters, we provide a level of personalised service and care that is rarely found on larger tours.

Private Charters

Our private charters provide the highest level of flexibility and accessibility.

Because every itinerary is custom designed, we can tailor almost every aspect of the journey to suit:

  • Age and mobility levels
  • Physical fitness
  • Medical conditions
  • Disabilities
  • Vision or hearing impairments
  • Neurodiverse travellers
  • Dietary requirements
  • Family groups with young children
  • Pace of travel
  • Accommodation preferences
  • Activity selection

Whether this means reducing walking distances, allowing additional time at attractions, avoiding difficult terrain, modifying activities, or designing an entirely bespoke itinerary, our team will work closely with you to create the most suitable experience possible.

Scheduled Small Group Tours

Our scheduled departures operate with a maximum of six guests per guide, one of the smallest guide-to-guest ratios in Australia.

This allows our guides to provide personalised attention throughout the tour while maintaining the flexibility to accommodate many individual requirements.

Some scheduled departures include minimum age recommendations or physical requirements due to the remote nature of the destinations and the fixed itinerary. However, we encourage guests to contact us before booking, as many accessibility requirements can still be accommodated.

Before You Travel

We encourage all guests to discuss any accessibility requirements with us at the time of enquiry or booking. The more information we receive before your tour, the better we can prepare to ensure your experience is safe, comfortable and enjoyable.

We also encourage all guests to read our comprehensive Travel Guide prior to departure. The guide contains important pre-tour information, including packing lists, health and safety information, what to expect during your tour, and other useful advice to help you prepare for your journey.

Information that is particularly helpful for us to know includes:

  • Mobility requirements
  • Medical conditions
  • Medications
  • Allergies and dietary requirements
  • Mobility aids or specialised equipment
  • Vision or hearing assistance requirements
  • Fitness level
  • Any additional support or assistance required during travel

All personal and medical information is treated with the utmost confidentiality and is used solely to help us deliver the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.

Mobility Assistance

Our guides are experienced in assisting guests with varying mobility requirements.

Where practical, we can:

  • Assist with loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Store wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility aids in our trailers or vehicles.
  • Select activities suited to individual mobility levels.
  • Modify walking distances where possible.
  • Allow additional time at attractions.
  • Assist guests over uneven terrain where appropriate.

Please note that many destinations throughout Arnhem Land, Kakadu and the Cobourg Peninsula are remote natural environments with uneven ground, sand, rocks, creek crossings and limited infrastructure. Some locations may not be fully wheelchair accessible.

Medical Support

Guest safety is our highest priority.

Our guides are highly trained in remote-area first aid and are experienced in managing medical situations in isolated environments. Venture North maintains comprehensive emergency response procedures to ensure guests receive prompt and appropriate care should the need arise.

Our operations include:

  • Comprehensive remote-area first aid kits carried in all vehicles and vessels
  • Defibrillators (AEDs) available at Cobourg Coastal Camp
  • EpiPens carried where appropriate
  • Refrigeration for medications requiring cold storage
  • Continuous power supply for CPAP machines, including during remote camping
  • Satellite communication equipment for reliable communication in remote areas
  • Comprehensive emergency response procedures and evacuation plans

Given the remote nature of many of our tours, Venture North maintains close communication with CareFlight and has proudly been a long-time supporter and partner of the organisation. In the event of a serious medical emergency, our experienced guides can rapidly coordinate with CareFlight and other emergency services to facilitate medical advice and emergency evacuation if required.

Dietary Requirements

We cater for a wide range of dietary requirements.

Our guides all hold Food Handling qualifications and are experienced in preparing meals for guests with specialised dietary needs.

We regularly cater for:

  • Vegetarian
  • Vegan
  • Gluten free
  • Dairy free
  • Coeliac
  • Nut allergies
  • Seafood allergies
  • Egg allergies
  • Halal
  • Low FODMAP
  • Diabetic dietary requirements
  • Other medically prescribed diets

Guests with severe allergies are encouraged to discuss their requirements with us before travel so appropriate meal planning and risk management can be undertaken.

Families and Young Children

Private charters are ideal for families travelling with young children.

We provide Australian Standards-compliant:

  • Infant capsules (where appropriate)
  • Baby seats
  • Toddler seats
  • Booster seats

Family itineraries can also be tailored to include shorter travel days, child-friendly activities and flexible pacing.

Please note that some scheduled departures have minimum age requirements due to the remote nature of the tour.

Sensory and Individual Needs

Our small group sizes allow guides to adapt their approach to suit individual guests.

Where practical we can:

  • Allow additional breaks
  • Reduce sensory overload where possible
  • Provide quieter experiences
  • Explain activities before participation
  • Adjust the pace of the day
  • Offer one-on-one assistance throughout the tour

Commitment to Personal Service

One of Venture North's greatest strengths is our personalised approach.

With a maximum of six guests per guide on all departures and fully customised private charters we are able to offer a level of flexibility and individual care that is rarely possible on larger coach tours.

If you have any questions about accessibility or would like to discuss your individual requirements, please contact our team. We are committed to working with you to create the best possible Northern Territory experience.
