Our scheduled tours operate with a maximum of six guests per vehicle and one Venture North guide.
Travelling in a micro-group creates a more relaxed and personal experience. It allows guests to spend more time with their guide, ask questions, move at a comfortable pace and enjoy places without the feeling of being part of a large tour group.
With fewer guests, we can also respond more easily to individual interests and make the most of unexpected wildlife sightings and opportunities along the way.
Exclusive experiences and remote locations
Our permits, operational agreements and long-standing relationships allow us to take guests beyond the usual visitor routes and into areas that are not accessible to independent travellers.
Depending on your itinerary, you may stay at our private Cobourg Coastal Camp, explore the Northern Territory’s largest marine park by boat, visit ancient rock art sites in Arnhem Land with a local Indigenous guide or experience remote areas of Kakadu that few travellers have the opportunity to see.
Access to these places is a privilege. We work closely with Traditional Owners, Aboriginal organisations, park authorities and local communities to ensure our visits are respectful, responsible and culturally appropriate.
Our tour guides are the backbone of Venture North.
They are extremely experienced, knowledgeable and passionate about the places we visit, with a strong focus on guest care, cultural responsibility and remote-area safety. Their understanding of the Top End’s landscapes, wildlife, history and communities brings each journey to life.
Our guides are also approachable, attentive and good company, an important quality when travelling together through remote country.
Our private Cobourg Coastal Camp offers guests the rare opportunity to stay on the remote Cobourg Peninsula within Garig Gunak Barlu National Park.
Set along the cliffside, the camp features comfortable safari tents with private external amenities, an open-air dining pavilion and a sunset bar area overlooking the surrounding landscape.
Its remote location, limited guest numbers and exclusive setting make Cobourg Coastal Camp one of the defining experiences of a Venture North journey.
Reliable, comfortable vehicles are essential when travelling through remote areas and along unsealed roads.
We primarily operate premium Toyota Landcruiser four-wheel drives with leather interiors, air conditioning throughout the vehicle, enhanced suspension and advanced safety features. Each vehicle also carries drinking water, first aid supplies, satellite communication and remote-area recovery equipment.
With no more than six guests in each vehicle and a rotating seating system, everyone has the opportunity to enjoy different views throughout the journey.
Our private charters are designed exclusively for your travelling party.
Each itinerary can be tailored to suit your interests, timeframe, preferred pace, fitness level and individual requirements. Whether your focus is culture, wildlife, photography, fishing, family travel or simply experiencing the Top End away from the crowds, we can create a journey around what matters most to you.
