Micro-group Touring

Posted on 22 May, 2019 in Darwin, Tours

At Venture North Safaris we specialise in really small-group touring. Our group sizes are so small and intimate that they are known as ‘micro-groups’. The term 'micro-group tours' refers to a tour which has 6 or less passengers per tour guide/vehicle.

The expression 'micro-group tours' has evolved with the overuse of the phrase ‘small-group tours’ which can now describe a tour with 20+ passengers! At Venture North we (and our guests) love the personalised nature of travelling in such small groups. Everyone has plenty of time to enjoy site we visit and ask as many questions as they like. There is also no lining up or fighting fellow passengers for that perfect photo opportunity! And most importantly you really get to know your tour guide and fellow passengers, often making connections that go well beyond the tour. One of our guests commented;

A micro-group tour is like a private tour with 5 like minded friends!

For those guests with big families or wanting to travel with groups of friends we can accommodate these requests by taking multiple vehicles on the same tour. By doing this the ratio of guests to guides always remains the same (6:1) but we can take groups of up to 12, 18 or 24.

Our most popular micro-group tour is the 5 Day Kakadu, Arnhem Land and Cobourg Peninsula Tour. This tour departs Darwin each Monday and Thursday during the dry-season (May through October), it not only gives guests the opportunity to see the highlights of Kakadu but also experience Aboriginal culture firsthand in Arnhem Land and stay on the pristine shorelines of the Cobourg Peninsula. Each day is truly different and unique. Guests experience good food, great guides and see something a bit different on this award-winning micro-group tour.
