Straddling the East Alligator River, Cahills Crossing is notorious and one of Australia's best-known crocodile spotting sites. Separating Kakadu National Park from Arnhem Land and the Cobourg Peninsula, this section of the river can go from a sleepy muddy stream to a torrent of water in a moment. Crossing it in a vehicle can be dangerous; however, with a bit of careful planning and common sense, the risks are minimal.
